Manitoba Society of Occupational Therapists (MSOT) has members that live, play, and serve clients throughout the province of Manitoba, located on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg, Inniniwak, Ojibwe Cree, Dakota, Dene, and on the homeland of the Métis Nation. The MSOT office is located on Treaty 1 territory and the homeland of the Métis Nation in Winnipeg. Our work extends throughout Treaty territories 2, 3, 4, and 5. We acknowledge that Winnipeg’s water is sourced from Shoal Lake 40 First Nation.We have been challenged by the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action to respect the Treaties made on these territories, to dedicate ourselves to understanding the trauma and harms experienced by Indigenous People in the past and present, and to move forward with Indigenous Peoples in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration to make Manitoba an inclusive and accessible place for everyone who lives here.
